Hair Transplants in Antalya: Questions to Ask Before Choosing a Clinic

Quick answer

In the Ministry of Health register, hair transplant is a small part of what Antalya province lists, and Istanbul lists far more entries. Each facility enters its own treatment list, and the register does not show who will treat you or whether a hair transplant unit permit exists. Antalya's clinics advertise by resort town; the register files them under the province. Before choosing, ask for the facility's authorisation number, the named person for each stage, a written plan and who answers after you fly home.

If you have an offer for a hair transplant in Antalya, the offer will most likely read like a holiday: a resort town, a hotel, a transfer, a package price. The register is organised differently, and the gap between the two is where most of the questions sit.

What does the register list for Antalya?

"The register" is the Ministry of Health list of facilities authorised to treat international patients. Antalya province holds several hundred authorised facilities, and most of them are dental, ear, nose and throat, or aesthetic and plastic surgery entries, so hair transplant is a small part of the picture. The authorised facilities in Antalya page shows the current figures.

A small number of Antalya entries declare hair transplant among their treatments, against many more in Istanbul and fewer in Ankara and İzmir. Each facility fills in its own treatment list, so the number says what facilities have declared, not how many run a hair transplant unit or how well. The register list of Antalya hair transplant entries shows each one.

How do the entries differ from each other?

They are not all the same kind of thing. On the day we read it, most of the Antalya entries at the top of that list were filed under an individual doctor's name rather than a hospital or clinic name. The register's own labels for the individual entries include plastic surgeon, dermatologist, ear, nose and throat surgeon and general practitioner.

That matters for one question in particular: where will the procedure take place, and which legal entity signs your contract? An entry under a doctor's name does not tell you which building you will be treated in. Ask for both, in writing, and match the entity name against the register entry.

Do the resort towns change anything?

For the search, yes. Clinics advertise by the town where you will stay, while the register files facilities by province, so a clinic that advertises from a resort town appears under Antalya. Search by clinic name or by authorisation number, a code in the form ST-0000, and not by resort. Finding an authorised clinic in Antalya covers the search in more detail, and the city page for authorised facilities in Antalya lets you filter the whole province.

What should you ask before you choose?

These questions apply to any hair transplant clinic. The register cannot answer them, and a good answer is one you can keep.

  1. Which facility and which legal entity? The address of the building where you will be treated and the company on the contract. Check both against the register entry.
  2. Who does what? The named person, with their role, for assessment, hairline design, extraction, opening the channels and placing the grafts. Who may perform each stage explains why this is the central question.
  3. Why this number of grafts? A written plan that reflects your donor area and your likely pattern of hair loss, not a number chosen for the package. See hair transplant in Türkiye.
  4. Which technique, and why? FUE, DHI or another method is a decision to explain, not a brand.
  5. What does the schedule look like? The NHS says to be very careful with the grafts for the first two weeks, to cut down on exercise in the first month and to expect one to two weeks off work. A trip that combines treatment with time on the coast needs the clinic's own restrictions in writing before you book anything else.
  6. Who answers after you fly home? A named contact, the usual reply time, and what is covered if shedding, infection or a corrective session comes up.
  7. What is in the price? An itemised quote: transfers, medication, any follow-up visit, and what a repeat session would cost.
  8. What will you receive? A written plan, the operative record with the names of the people involved, and the clinic's aftercare instructions.

How much can you learn from the reviews?

Less about the result than it seems, because new hair usually starts to appear after about four months and the full result takes 10 to 18 months. How to read hair transplant reviews sets out what a review can and cannot show.

What can an independent investigation add?

The register tells you whether a facility is authorised and which treatments it declares. A Clinic Investigation takes the one clinic you name and checks the registration, the doctors named to you, the ownership and the claims against documents, then says what could not be confirmed. It does not assess medical quality or results. Clinics cannot pay Clinimora for anything.

Already chosen a hair transplant clinic in Antalya?

An investigation checks the official registration, the doctors named to you and the claims the clinic has made, against documents.

Frequently asked questions

How many clinics in Antalya do hair transplants?

The live register list of Antalya hair transplant entries gives the current number. Each facility enters its own treatment list, so it is a list of what facilities declare, not a count of practising hair transplant units.

Are Alanya, Side and Kemer clinics listed under Antalya?

The register files facilities by province, and those resort towns are in Antalya province, so a clinic advertising in one of them appears under Antalya. Search by clinic name or authorisation number rather than by resort.

Does the register show who will perform my hair transplant?

No. It records the facility and the doctors recorded against it, not who performs each stage on a given day. Ask for names and roles in writing.

Is a clinic listed under a doctor's own name different from one listed as a hospital or clinic?

It can be. Ask where the procedure will take place and which legal entity signs your contract, because the register entry and the building you are treated in may not be the same thing.

How long should I plan to stay in Antalya after a hair transplant?

The NHS says to be very careful with the grafts for the first two weeks and to expect one to two weeks off work. Ask the clinic for its own aftercare timetable in writing and whether it fits your flights.

Is an Antalya clinic better than an Istanbul one for hair transplants?

The register does not say. It shows many more Istanbul entries than Antalya ones, but a larger list is not a quality measure. Judge any clinic by the answers it gives in writing.

Research first. Choose confidently. Clinimora is an independent, patient-funded research service. It does not sell treatment, does not diagnose and does not recommend any clinic.
